Crossover, Dallas, Texas, United States, 75215
Licensing & Permitting Director – 2 Hour Learning (Remote) – $200,000/year USD
Location: Remote – Employer: Crossover – Seniority level: Director – Employment type: Full‑time.
Base pay: $100.00/hr (equivalent to $200,000 per year).
If you've overseen school, hospital, or retail construction from the ground up and are eager to accelerate permitting and compliance, 2 Hour Learning looks for a leader who can move operations faster and more efficiently. 2 Hour Learning is launching the fastest school‑deployment model in the nation—new schools need regulatory clearance before they can open, and licenses, permits, and compliance filings must be accurate, expedited, and on schedule.
Your responsibility will be to determine requirements, sequence filings, ensure approvals arrive on time, and manage a portfolio of projects across multiple jurisdictions. You will use AI platforms and automation tools while also engaging directly with contractors, making phone calls, and resolving edge cases that automated systems cannot manage.
What You Will Be Doing
Align architects, contractors, and legal counsel to obtain all necessary construction and education‑operation permits.
Manage municipal permitting and inspection workflows across multiple jurisdictions, reducing timelines and removing obstacles.
Compile and file complete approval packages: permits, applications, regulatory submissions, and inspection records.
Track progress and compliance exposure across all active projects, ensuring real‑time transparency and no unexpected delays.
Conduct site visits (~75% travel) to engage with local authorities, inspectors, and service providers to maintain momentum.
What You Won’t Be Doing
Rely on others to surface problems or finalize submissions—you will own delivery from start to finish.
Operate exclusively from a desk—this role is field‑focused, not administrative.
Apply a rigid one‑size‑fits‑all process across jurisdictions—develop custom solutions as needed.
Treat delays as unavoidable—both speed and accuracy define this position.
Depend on outdated tools or manual systems—automate workflows and improve them continuously.
Basic Requirements
Located in the U.S. with authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship.
Available and prepared to travel approximately 75 % of the time across U.S. cities and states.
5+ years directing permitting, construction, or facilities expansion initiatives involving physical infrastructure and regulatory clearance.
5+ years coordinating multiple contractors per project across different jurisdictions.
Documented history of delivering projects ahead of deadline while maintaining full compliance.
Experience communicating progress to both technical teams and executive leadership.
Clear ownership record—served as the single accountable contact for project execution and issue resolution.
AI‑native approach—applied automation and iterative methods to accelerate outcomes.
Strong written communication that is precise, actionable, and relied upon by senior leadership.
Strong regulatory judgment—understand when to elevate, seek clarification, or challenge requirements.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
Experience in construction management, education operations, or multi‑location retail rollouts.
History of developing or refining AI tools for permitting, compliance, or regulatory operations.
Prior engagement with fire marshals, building inspectors, and education regulatory bodies.
