Job Description Phlebotomist II Float – San Jose, CA. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Must have a state phlebotomy license; NHA licenses are not accepted in CA, WA, NV. Pay range: $26.35 - $30.66 per hour. A robust total rewards package is offered.

Responsibilities

Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomy duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate.

Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing.

Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.

Enter billing information and collect payment when required.

Coach, mentor, instruct, and act as a resource advisor for new employees; serve as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.

Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed.

Qualifications Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
