We are seeking an Area Director of Finance for Hotel Zena and Viceroy Washington D.C.
Base pay: $155,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
Location: Arlington, VA
Employment type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues.
Prepare monthly financial statements for the property.
Monitor hotel revenues and expenses; ensure accurate recording.
Create annual budgets and monthly variance analysis; investigate variances.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, and contracts.
Analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
Comply with Standard Accounting policies and internal controls for finance operations.
Review and approve all balance sheet accounts, bank reconciliations, and ledger account reconciliations.
Establish and audit all internal financial controls.
Coordinate all internal and external audits, working with CPA firms.
Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff; provide coaching and counseling.
Maintain compliance with Highgate Hotels’ standards and regulations.
Prepare and direct financial reports, including budgets and capital plans.
Interact with Executive Committee members to ensure operations are on track.
Ensure timely production of daily operating reports.
Execute other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
At least 5 years of Hospitality Finance/Accounting experience.
Prior Controller or Director of Finance experience at a premium-branded Hotel.
Experience overseeing multiple hotels simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
Supervise at least 2 employees.
Proficient in Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systems.
