level, where you'll work closely with private equity funds, navigating the complexities of fund structures, tax strategies, and investment planning. Tax Strategy & Compliance

Lead tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return sign‑off for private equity clients, including multi‑state filings and specialized tax considerations for funds and investments.

Oversee the preparation and filing of partnership and fund tax returns (e.g., Form 1065, K‑1), ensuring compliance with regulations while maximizing tax efficiency for private equity structures.

Work closely with clients to develop and implement tax‑efficient strategies that align with investment goals, fund structures, and long‑term financial objectives.

Stay up to date on current tax laws, regulatory changes, and industry best practices, particularly in the private equity space, to deliver strategic and informed tax advice.

Client Experience

Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity fund managers, institutional investors, and other key stakeholders, providing consistent value and expertise to ensure client satisfaction and confidence.

Provide high‑level tax guidance on complex issues such as fund structures, carried interest, and tax planning for investments and distributions.

Stay current with tax developments relevant to private equity, ensuring clients receive the most accurate, strategic, and timely advice.

Team Leadership

Mentor and develop junior tax staff, reviewing their work and providing guidance on complex tax issues.

Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree required.

CPA or JD required at the senior manager level; preferred at the manager level.

5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on private equity funds; preferably within a public accounting firm.

Proven leadership experience with a consistent record of accomplishment, accountability, and history of execution against budget and strategic initiatives.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and client‑friendly manner.

Initiative to learn, ask questions, operate in a fast‑paced environment, challenge the status quo, develop strong relationships internally, and be flexible.

Understanding of Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, and familiarity with tax software required.

Location

Preferred locations: Cleveland, Akron, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Chicago, IL; Detroit or St. Clair Shores, MI.

Prefer a hybrid work environment, but open to remote candidates.
