Position Summary As a Field Service Technician, you are part of the services support team and your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to our world‑class high level of customer satisfaction. You respond to customers on‑site in your assigned territory, communicate in an open, helpful, and engaging manner, and find the right solution for each customer.
Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to customer installation, maintenance, and service calls.
Servicing electromechanical equipment such as ATMs and self‑checkout systems.
Oversee hardware maintenance, network management, multi‑vendor maintenance, and software support.
Utilize technical skills on products like peripherals, large system printers, plotters, enterprise level servers, communications equipment, networks, and item processing sorters.
Perform maintenance repair and system overhauls, including modular swaps and unit replacements.
Manage network faults, traffic, configuration, security, and remote system access.
Capture customer information for invoicing and record all customer calls, activity, and expenses.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of systems architecture, database management systems, and network/system management.
Familiarity with large servers, mainframe computers, and imaging software.
Valid certifications: A+ (CompTIA), N+, PC skills, basic electronic skills.
3+ years of relevant experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
Local candidates strongly preferred; candidate must be available to begin work promptly in Boston.
High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree or higher preferred).
Authorized to work in the U.S.; must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license with driving record meeting NCR fleet requirements.
Ability to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Essential Functions The position may require prolonged travel, driving several hours per day, rotating and weekend shifts, carrying and lifting tools and equipment up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and working with fine motor skills for prolonged periods.
