Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Danvers, Massachusetts. This role involves managing a dynamic finance department, ensuring smooth workflow, and delivering accurate financial results. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong leadership skills while coordinating multiple priorities. Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of nine professionals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, senior accountants, and project coordinators.
- Lead and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion within established deadlines.
- Provide support for Massachusetts audit processes, maintaining compliance and delivering required documentation.
- Utilize Deltek systems to manage surveys and streamline financial operations.
- Assist with tax preparation, planning, and organizational tax-related activities.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration across the team to ensure workflow continuity.
- Address daily interruptions and challenges while keeping financial operations on track.
- Implement and monitor best practices to enhance departmental productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies and improve processes. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and audits.
- Strong skills in account reconciliation and journal entries.
- Familiarity with Deltek systems and their application in financial operations.
- Solid understanding of audit procedures and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
