Locums - Plastic Surgeon Des Moines, Iowa (IMLC Accepted) Assignment Overview
  • Need Type: Full-time locums
  • Start: ASAP
  • Patient Contact Hours: 36 hrs/week
  • Schedule Options (REQUIRED):
    • 7 on / 7 off
    • OR 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Clinic Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Procedure/OR Days: 2-4 per week
  • Call:
    • Soft tissue trauma call + clinic call + EMTALA
    • Call-only coverage initially , clinic/OR duties may be added later
Required Credentials Board Status
  • Board Certified in Plastic Surgery - REQUIRED
Licensure
  • Active Iowa License - REQUIRED OR
  • Active IMLC with LOQ uploaded at name clear - REQUIRED
Experience
  • Must be experienced - REQUIRED
Availability
  • Must commit to either:
    • 7 on / 7 off OR
    • 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
    • Must be available ASAP - REQUIRED
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Trauma call
  • ER consults
  • In-office consults & procedures
  • Reconstructive work collaborating with breast surgeons
Clinical Environment
  • Inpatient Responsibilities: Two Medical Centers
  • Outreach: No
  • Telehealth: No
  • Physicians in Group: 1
  • APPs: 1 (no supervision required)
  • Nursing Support: 1:1
  • Ancillary Staff: 0.5:1
  • Clinic Volume: 16+ patients/day (varies by visit type)
  • Appointment Length: 15-30 minutes
  • Patient Population: Surgical & cosmetic patients of all ages
  • Medical Imaging: Yes
  • Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
  • Teaching Opportunities: Yes
  • EMR: Epic
