We're looking for a Head of Operations to set up, manage and automate HUD's hiring/HR, expansion and general operations as we scale rapidly. You'll be responsible for building operational foundations that enable our team to focus on AI safety evaluation research while ensuring smooth company growth. Responsibilities
Design and implement hiring processes, from job posting to onboarding
Set up and manage HR systems, policies, and employee lifecycle management
Automate operational workflows and technical processes for maximum efficiency
Coordinate company expansion planning and execution
General startup operations
Experience
Core Requirements Proven operations or management experience, preferably in tech startup environments
Strong organizational and project management skills
Experience building processes from scratch in fast-growing companies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You may be a good fit if you: Have managed hiring and HR operations at early-stage startups
Successfully automated operational processes and workflows
Led cross-functional projects in technical environments
Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts relevant to your role (fullstack LLM deployment, science of evaluations, multimodal and agentic AI etc.)
Strong candidates may have: Familiarity with AI Safety and AI alignment
Previous engagement with AI safety research or organizations
Understanding of LLM evaluation frameworks, particularly multimodal and agentic evaluations
Familiarity in using and deploying latest AI tools for operational efficiency
Experience in in fullstack LLM deployment, particularly for multimodal and agentic AI evaluations
Team & Company Details
Team Size : ~5-10 people currently, planning significant growth
Our team:
Our team includes 4 international Olympiad medallists (IOI, ILO, IPhO), serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at ICLR, NeurIPS etc.
Logistics
Employment : Fulltime position.
Location : In-person at our San Francisco office.
Visa Sponsorship : We provide support for relocation and visas for strong full-time candidates.
Timeline : Applications are rolling. The process should involve 1-2 interviews and take less than a week.
