What You’ll Do:
As the Business Development Director, you will:
Lead Strategic Growth: Drive HDR’s market share and revenue growth globally.
Build Client Relationships: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients and align HDR’s capabilities to meet their needs.
Drive Business Development: Lead major pursuits and campaigns, develop winning strategies, and guide proposal efforts.
Shape Market Strategy: Collaborate with market and operations leadership to define and support regional strategic plans.
Mentor and Train: Support the maturation of business development skills across teams.
Align Resources: Ensure the right talent and expertise are matched to client needs and grow opportunities in partnership with operations.
What You Bring (roles and responsibilities):
Achieve global booking goals for the Waste Sector.
Manage regional Waste business development leaders.
Maintain a strong understanding of the Waste market trends and drivers.
Create a vision for the Waste program with the Waste Sector Director.
Oversee annual and long‑term strategic plans, including growth initiatives.
Drive cross‑market strategic initiatives in the RBG.
Lead major pursuit teams and implement effective win strategies.
Identify and fill management, technical, business development and marketing positions.
Develop training on business development and marketing best practices.
Implement major client plans and long‑term strategies to capture market share.
Serve as a Client Manager for assigned accounts and maintain strong client relationships.
Develop relationships with teaming partners.
Participate in professional associations to elevate HDR’s brand.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Professional or engineering registration or certificate, or related technical experience.
Experience winning high‑value contracts in the Waste industry.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience.
Self‑starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.
Deep knowledge of A/E/C industry procurement practices.
Ability to motivate and inspire others.
Network-building skills with clients and industry partners.
Sales and win‑strategy development experience.
Financial acumen and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel and engage in person.
Experience growing programs in competitive markets.
Experience writing compelling content based on information from technical staff.
