Position Summary We are seeking a Dental Assistant – Surgical to support the Prosthodontist and other specialty clinicians in performing procedures, preparing instruments, taking impressions, sterilizing equipment, and caring for patients from first visit through post‑operative care. The assistant will maintain a clean and organized work environment, manage supplies, and assist with radiographic procedures. Responsibilities Work under the direct supervision of the Prosthodontist. Provide chair‑side assistance while dentists examine and treat patients. Ensure patient comfort, prepare them for treatment, and maintain dental records. Hand instruments and materials to dentists; keep patients’ mouths dry using suction or other devices. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and prep trays; instruct patients on postoperative oral health care. Prepare materials for impressions and restorations; take dental X‑rays and process film. Assist with radiographic equipment and aid patients during imaging procedures. Handle office duties such as scheduling, confirming appointments, recordkeeping, billing, payments, and ordering supplies. Support specialty areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics including dental implantology. Assist the hygienist with cleaning trays, room setups, and clean‑ups. Track the inventory of prosthetic supplies and keep the storage closet organized. Support the radiographic needs of the patient education consultants, oral surgeon, and hygienists. Experience & Qualifications Certified as a Dental Assistant by the ADA. Minimum two years of Dental Assistant experience. Dental implant experience desired. Reliable, works well in a fast‑paced environment, and has good manual dexterity. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Physical requirements: able to walk, stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform fine motor tasks. Working Conditions Work in a well‑lit, clean environment near the dental chair. Wear gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing to protect from infectious diseases. Follow safety procedures to minimize risks associated with X‑ray use. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated salary range is $25,000–$27,000 DOE.
