American Sign Language Faculty - 10-Month Join to apply for the American Sign Language Faculty - 10-Month role at Community College of Baltimore County Overview The American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreter Preparation Program at CCBC has served students for over 40 years. The program uses a cutting‑edge curriculum and is rapidly growing both locally and online. We seek a faculty member to teach ASL and Deaf culture courses; candidates with a CDI credential may also teach interpreter prep courses. Positions are located at the Essex and Catonsville campuses and include teaching during days, evenings and online. Responsibilities Prepare and teach basic to advanced levels of American Sign Language. Maintain a strong presence by actively participating in department initiatives, college‑wide committees and other college work groups. Remain current in the discipline through professional development opportunities. Native fluency in American Sign Language. Excellent written English skills. Knowledge of Deaf community and culture. Strong interest in teaching a diverse student population. Qualifications Master’s degree in a deaf‑related discipline such as American Sign Language Teaching, Deaf Studies, or Linguistics of ASL. ASLTA certification strongly preferred. Two (2) years teaching experience preferred. Proficient computer skills and Microsoft application knowledge. Prior college teaching experience preferred.
