Base pay range: $85,500 – $122,567 per year

About the Role Wiley’s AI Growth team is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to accelerate the adoption of AI‑powered research tools across corporate R&D departments. The Sales Engineering function is critical to translating complex AI capabilities into tangible value for research stakeholders, architecting solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing research workflows, and validating technical feasibility through hands‑on proofs‑of‑concept.

Responsibilities

Own life‑sciences proofs‑of‑concept (POCs) that improve literature surveillance, systematic review, regulatory evidence packages, and competitive intelligence.

Serve as the primary technical advisor during 12–18 month enterprise sales cycles, delivering compelling technical demonstrations of RAG systems, vector databases, LLM orchestration frameworks, and AI agent architectures tailored to corporate research workflows.

Architect and execute 3–6 month technical POCs that validate AI solution performance against customer success criteria.

Partner with Account Executives to develop technical proposals, respond to RFPs, and address security and compliance requirements specific to life sciences and healthcare environments.

Gather customer insights and competitive intelligence, synthesise patterns and themes, and advocate for customer needs with Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap priorities.

Develop whitepapers, reference architectures and technical blogs; deliver presentations at industry conferences.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

5–7 years in technical customer‑facing roles (Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, Product Management, Technical Account Manager) with enterprise customers; AI R&D preferred.

Proficiency in Python, RAG architectures, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma), LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex), AI agent frameworks and cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Technical demonstrations and POC execution; solution architecture; enterprise sales cycle management; stakeholder navigation.

Self‑managed execution across long sales cycles; strong time‑management, problem‑solving orientation, adaptability.

Excellent communication skills, presentation to C‑suite and technical committees.

Fluent written and verbal English.

Requirements

Ability to travel 20–30 % for customer meetings, on‑site POCs, and industry conferences.
