POSITION SUMMARY The Technician III is a senior-level commercial HVAC technician responsible for expert-level service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex HVAC systems, including centrifugal chillers, large tonnage packaged units, built-up DX split systems, and both air- and water-cooled scroll, reciprocating, and screw chillers. This role requires a high degree of technical skill and professionalism, with the ability to represent the company through courteous and tactful communication with a diverse client base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including but not limited to the following: o 40 – 100-ton package units o WSHP o VAV and FPB o VRF systems o Centrifugal chillers o Pumps o Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers o Cooling towers o Self-contained units o Variable frequency drives o Complex electrical systems Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and consistently using required personal protective equipment (PPE) Maintain a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked company vehicle to support efficient service delivery Properly manage, coordinate, and maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and inventory Lead and manage assigned service and maintenance projects, working closely with Account Managers and Service Coordinators to schedule labor, parts, and subcontractors as needed Plan and communicate daily schedule and work updates in coordination with the Service Coordinator Accurately complete and submit timecards, service tickets, inspection reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner Collaborate with other team members, including Service Coordinators and Service Supervisors, to proactively anticipate and develop solutions to client problems Clearly communicate diagnostics, recommended actions, and solutions to clients and internal teams both verbally and in writing Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support department and company goals Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) 5+ years of
commercial/industrial
HVAC experience Associates degree, or equivalent experience and training Demonstrate effective leadership, communication, and project management skills Tech registration with TDLR & EPA Universal Provide basic hand tools, i.e. gauges, meter, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and a smartphone Ability to perform basic trouble shooting/system analysis Self-sufficient, while maintaining team structure Driven and passionate about our company vision and serving our customers Willing to seek training, coaching, and expand knowledge of the industry Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as needed Ability to pass a background check and drug test Possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of registered driving history PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to lift and maneuver large, heavy equipment, parts, and tools, weighing in excess of 50 lbs. Must be able to work on ladders, lifts, and from high elevations Must be able to work in confined spaces Must be able to work in extremely hot and cold climates
