Summary Directs, manages, and optimizes the assigned facility in accordance with directives and procedures as assigned by the Director of Operations, ensuring completion of quality products built on time in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, leads and develops facility staff, fostering a positive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Adheres to organization policies and goals.

Proposes plans and processes regarding all Plant Operations development and operational improvements.

Responsible for product build to quality specification requirements.

Responsible for adhering to guidelines for material levels, assuring inventory meets production schedule requirements and does not exceed schedule requirements.

Ensures facility is properly maintained, organized, clean, and supports safe working environment.

Provides performance measurements including monthly KPI’s.

Monitors and reports safety metrics monthly.

Adheres to facility budget and identifies needing expansion or reduction within budget.

Directs Production Manager and monitors the activities of the Production Manager and his/her coordination of departments to improve operational efficiency and throughput.

Prepares monthly management reports highlighting the performance of the facility.

Works closely with product managers on cost reductions and product improvements.

Will rely on Engineering to provide technical expertise in product specifications, new product development, and equipment maintenance, ensuring quality standards are met.

Collaborates with sales to understand demands and trends of the market to ensure the facility is equipped to support those needs, including special projects.

Ensures Purchasing provides a reliable supply chain and cost‑effective sourcing of materials and supplies. Ensures Purchasing provides timely delivery of necessary resources.

Oversees Human Resources and works closely with H.R. in all matters related to staffing, training, employee performance, and employee skill development.

Scrutinizes Environmental Health and Safety assuring this segment is providing robust plant safety environment including assuring inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented meeting OSHA requirements and providing a safe work environment for employees.

Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and create a resolution.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred

Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training

Trailer knowledge preferred
