Advanced Practitioner Role Scope The role is a hybrid Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP) in Electrophysiology, supporting clinical services in ambulatory and inpatient settings. Key responsibilities include:
Outpatient ECG interpretation and management of complex cardiac arrhythmias.
Pre‑procedure risk stratification for EP procedures and prescription of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
Monitoring and adjustment of medications for arrhythmias, performing follow‑up assessments, and optimizing evidence‑based treatment plans.
Independent or supervised routine cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) testing and reprogramming.
Remote transmission review and management of CIED data.
Facilitating outpatient CIED implantation and catheter ablation procedures.
Patient education regarding treatment options and lifestyle modifications.
Support for the inpatient EP consultation service at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center, including peri‑operative EP services and postoperative complication management.
Imperative collaboration with cardiologists, intensivists, hospitalists, medical staff, and electrophysiologists for patient throughput and care plans.
Participation in quality management initiatives and continuing education in electrophysiology.
The position requires travel across multiple locations in Connecticut and a supportive team environment with on‑boarding and mentorship.

Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master’s program (preferred).
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
Certification or eligibility for national certification (AACN or ANCC).
Cardiology experience preferred, with electrophysiology as a strong preference.
Experience in cardiac device management highly preferred.
