Senior Engineer, Mechanical (Nuclear)

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Mechanical (Nuclear) to support a number of our nuclear power plant projects. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of engineers and designers preparing modification packages for mechanical systems serving the nuclear power industry.
What You’ll Do
Develop design modification packages for mechanical systems at a nuclear power plant.
Perform engineering calculations such as hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, HVAC sizing, heat load analysis, and pressure loss calculations.
Develop mechanical design and procurement specifications.
Prepare engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Plan, Piping Orthographic and Isometric drawings.
Develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.
Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.
Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start‑up activities as required.
What You Bring to the Team
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience (at least 4 years in a nuclear environment) in the mechanical engineering field.
Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
Must be a United States citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP‑ENG‑01).
Professional Engineering (PE) license in the United States.
Experience with fluid flow software such as AFT FATHOM or equivalent.
Experience with Fire Protection and Detection Systems.
