The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Storm Water Quality Division, is recruiting for two (2) Civil Engineer III positions located at Kapolei Hale.
These Positions Are Responsible For:
Professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program.
Planning, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.
These positions may also involve participation in periodic and temporary cross training and supplementary work exercises and activities in support of other branches within the division to comply with its regulatory obligations of the City's storm water permit.
There is one (1) Civil Engineer III position located in Honolulu with the Board of Water Supply.
One (1) position in the Water Resources Division, Long-Range Planning Branch.

Salary Information Salaries for positions at the Honolulu Board of Water Supply are at the entry salary rate: $6,528 per month.
Salary for positions at the Department of Facility Maintenance are commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval: $6,528 to $7,317 per month.

Experience Requirement Two year(s) of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
Such experience shall demonstrate knowledge of:
civil engineering principles and practices;
engineering mathematics;
engineering mechanics and the mechanics of materials;
hydraulic, structural, mechanical, electrical and sanitary engineering principles to the extent that these apply to the general field of civil engineering.
Such experience must also demonstrate the ability to:
do civil engineering design work or supervise construction and inspection activities;
analyze stresses and determine the required foundations and structural features;
supervise a small group of subordinate professional or subprofessional employees; and
prepare engineering and inspection reports.
Substitution A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
The substitution must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States.
