As a Reliability Engineer at a growth‑oriented energy company, you will own the reliability of refinery fixed equipment—piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and pressure relief valves. You will conduct engineering studies, perform RCM analysis, and lead improvement initiatives in collaboration with maintenance, inspections, and operations teams.
Key Activities
Take ownership of fixed equipment as primary director & consultant for maintenance, repairs, and reliability initiatives.
Identify and implement reliability recommendations using RCM analysis.
Champion the fixed‑equipment bad actor program, developing strategies for resolution.
Work closely with inspections to evaluate corrosion trends, predict end‑of‑life, and recommend replacement.
Calculate flange closure data (torque, tensioning procedures).
Drive the Management of Change (MOC) process and serve as lead evaluator.
Assist with engineering tasks outside the fixed‑equipment scope, including rotating equipment, instrumentation, electrical, and environmental.
Execute projects related to design and modification of fixed equipment.
Evaluate leak prevention, mitigation, and repair plans (clamps, composite wraps).
Investigate equipment problems and failures, provide root‑cause engineering recommendations, and assess economic impacts.
Recommend critical spare parts to ensure reliable operation.
Use SAP to update equipment repair histories, technical data, and bill‑of‑materials.
Lead fixed‑equipment jobs during turnarounds and maintenance outages.
Proactively seek cost‑savings and reliability‑enhancement opportunities.
Respond to off‑hour emergencies and turnarounds; work a 9/80 schedule, weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on‑call when required.

Qualifications
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) –

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgy/Corrosion, Petroleum, or related).
Minimum 5 years of experience in piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, corrosion, or refining reliability.
Proficiency with SAP, MOC process, inspection databases (PCMS, etc.), ASME standards (Section VIII & IX, B31.3, PCC‑1 & 2), API standards (510, 570, 579, 653, 580), and torque calculations.
Strong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
