The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for updating monthly financial reporting packages for property management and capital partners, modeling revenue and expenses for an assigned portfolio of properties, and leading quarterly valuations for capital partners. This is an entry level position that will provide the selected candidate with the unique opportunity to gain exposure and insight across various Centennial departments.
Principal Job Activities
Provide analytical summaries for various company KPI’s, including but not limited to, sales data, revenue analysis, variance analysis from budget and forecasts, and maintaining various excel models
Prepare and document annual budgets and periodic reforecasts, including all supporting documentation such as leasing templates, tenant analysis, property and portfolio analysis, and other various financial/performance metrics. Work alongside leasing, asset management, property General Managers, marketing, etc. to coordinate the final product.
Fulfill ad-hoc internal requests from various departments (Asset Management, Investment/Acquisitions, Development, Leasing, etc.) and deliverables to 3rd party owners and to partners/investors as needed
Coordinate with various levels of management and departments to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations, reports, and analysis for monthly reporting packages, business planning, etc.
Evaluate and read lease language and understanding of impacts to value of real estate assets
Conduct property level analyses assessing the financial impact of developments, expansions and significant leasing activities on investor returns as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent experience
2-5 years’ experience, preferable at a commercial real estate company
Strong service orientation – ability to interface with all business groups
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Manage time effectively in order to accomplish goals
Exhibit high motivation and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Systems-oriented, tech-savvy; ability to work with financial systems (Yardi Voyager, Yardi Elevate Advanced Budgeting & Forecasting (ABF) a plus)
Real estate background and experience with Argus strongly preferred
Creative and innovative approach to solving problems and resolving issues
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 30 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and expansive reading.
