Mammography Technologist - Liggett Breast Center - 40 Hours - Days

Shift: FT 40 hours per week, day shift Monday-Friday with Saturday rotation.
Location: Henry Ford Liggett Breast Center-Grosse Pointe Woods 19229 Mack Ave. Suite 31 Grosse Pointe Woods MI 48236
Responsibilities
Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures.
Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Ensures equipment is properly functioning; reports potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage, and other areas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire or job transfer; American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
One or more of the following required:
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 months (1 year) of hire or job transfer.
Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 months (1 year) of hire or job transfer.
Ability to perform screening and diagnostic mammography in a high‑volume Comprehensive Breast Center. Biopsy experience preferred but willing to train. This position will require learning Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound.
