Plastic Surgeon/Medical Director of Breast Reconstruction

The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Cooper University Hospital is recruiting for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Surgery or above. Qualified candidates should possess or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The ideal candidate will have completed fellowship training in microsurgery, prior clinical practice experience in breast reconstruction, and a strong interest in reconstructive microsurgery, teaching, clinical research, leadership, and program development.
The selected candidate will provide general plastic surgery services but will focus on comprehensive breast reconstruction services as part of multidisciplinary teams at Cooper University Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. The candidate will also serve as a member of the teaching faculty at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, training residents in the Cooper Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency program as well as medical students and rotating surgery residents.
Responsibilities
Share in leadership decisions for the breast cancer program
Represent the Plastic Surgery Program to MD Anderson, the Surgical Institute, and senior leadership
Facilitate program development, including strategy, operations, and pathway development
Provide input to the capital and operating budget for the cancer center
Participate in marketing and planning meetings for breast surgery
Function as a new member of:
Cancer Leadership Team meetings
NAPBC team
Cancer Committee
Quarterly Surgical Services Update team
