Job Summary We invite applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor to teach courses in the Sociology and Criminology programs with an anticipated start date of January or August 2026.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Criminology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field. ABD candidates near graduation will also be considered.
The incumbent will teach a 4/4 teaching load (12 credit hours per semester) in a combination of face‑to‑face and online graduate and undergraduate courses, maintain an active research agenda, mentor and advise students, and provide service to the department, university, and community.
Responsibilities
Teach 12 credit hours per semester (4/4 teaching load).
Deliver instruction in both face‑to‑face and online environments.
Maintain an active research agenda, publish peer‑reviewed work, and pursue grant funding.
Mentor and advise students.
Provide service to the department, university, and community.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution (ABDs near graduation considered).
Demonstrated ability to teach both face‑to‑face and online courses.
Ability to conduct scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed outlets, and seek grant funding in the area of specialization.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years or more of online teaching experience at the graduate level.
Teaching Averages In‑class teaching 75 %, online teaching 25 %.
