Beyond Yourself . The CMG supports MBA students and alumni with career workshops, advising, and recruitment services.

Responsibilities Plan and organize event activities, managing logistics such as facilities, tickets, audience management, concessionaires, caterers, vendors, speakers, and maintenance staff. Provide technical and marketing support for events hosted by the CMG, both offline and online.

Plan and manage medium‑to‑moderately complex events involving guests from multiple sources such as private sector partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Strategically design and deliver CMG’s key events, building strong relationships with corporate partners.

Oversee annual events: Career programs during Orientation, Tech Networking Night, Investment Banking Networking Nights, Consulting Takeover Days, Industry Micro Mixers, and Faculty & Alumni Coffee Chats.

Consult with CMG and other Haas departments on event details and planning.

Serve as the central point of contact for all event‑related activity and represent CMG school‑wide event planning.

Develop and implement event budgets, leveraging UC policies, vendor RFPs, and historical data.

Manage financial resources through contracts or agreements and reconcile the department purchasing card.

Ensure smooth, effective events, recognizing and resolving potential problems promptly with tact and discretion.

Assist in CMG marketing, including digital and physical assets.

Identify event locations and vendors within UC Event Management policies and designated budgets.

Coordinate staffing needs for each event.

Participate in long‑range unit event planning.

Lead the annual CMG planning process, providing recommendations for improvements based on objectives and follow‑up surveys.

Required Qualifications

Deep knowledge of event planning and public relations concepts, including design, organization, production, and volunteer recruitment.

Quick learner of University policies and procedures related to facilities, event management, and presentation.

Strong judgment in decision‑making and event management.

Experience managing budgets and meeting project time constraints.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced decision‑making, problem recognition, and resolution skills.

Strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities, prioritizing workloads effectively.

Flexibility to accommodate last‑minute changes and to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to establish professional relationships with colleagues, students, and team members.

Demonstration of Haas’s four Leadership Principles.

Education / Training

Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.

Preferred Qualifications

UC Berkeley Event Management Planning Certificate Program.

Salary range: $74,700.00 – $103,800.00. The position is a full‑time, career role eligible for UC benefits and is exempt, monthly‑paid.
