Position within the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division (BSD), part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC).
Base pay range:
$70,000 – $110,000 per year.

The UCCCC administers four scientific programs, manages one of the largest cancer clinical trials programs in the country with nearly 500 adult and pediatric therapeutic trials actively accruing patients, and supports numerous research, training, and outreach activities.
Job Summary The Business Intelligence & Analytics Sr. Analyst works as part of the UCCCC Analytics team, providing analytics and informatics support for all Cancer Clinical Trials Support Office (CTSO) activities. Responsibilities include analyzing needs, coding analytics solutions and reports, maintaining dashboards and reports, supporting data products, and handling regulatory reporting and high‑priority projects.
Responsibilities
Analyzes, designs, develops, and maintains data reports, dashboards (Tableau), and ETL scripts.
Provides analytics support for the CTSO, especially for investigator‑initiated trials.
Upgrades and maintains internal custom web applications, Tableau dashboards, and interfaces.
Participates in CTMS and EDC support, data migration, and integration projects.
Assists with pilot data science and predictive analytics projects as needed.
Develops Business Intelligence (BI) and other analytical applications to achieve an integrated reporting environment.
Plans and executes requirements analysis, translating requirements into scope documents and report deliverables.
Works with users to ensure deliverables meet expectations, provides support, communicates issues, monitors access control, and troubleshoots BI applications.
Participates in planning, testing, and roll‑out of patches and upgrades to BI and analytic software.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
College or university degree in a related field.
2‑5 years of experience in a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Biomedical Informatics.
Strong background in software development and data analytics using JavaScript, C#, Python, SQL, and clinical trial systems such as RedCap.
Experience with data design and modeling, and comfortable with SQL.
Prior experience in a clinical research operations setting and with clinical trials management systems.
Working knowledge of analytics tools such as R, R Shiny, Tableau, or Power BI.
Familiarity with Applied Data Analytics and Data Science frameworks.
Curious and analytical mindset for turning vague requirements into concrete solutions.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and data‑management skills.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.
Ability to understand complex documents (e.g., clinical trials) and manage competing demands with diplomacy and enthusiasm.
Preferred Competencies

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
