Salary Range Grade: Technical 410 – Pay Range: $140,200.00 – $217,200.00
Job Description
Research, design, develop, analyze, test, and implement software for operating or application systems.
Communicate project information to clients, project managers, and other design personnel.
Maintain good working relationships with clients and staff, and keep management informed of status and significant problems.
Write and maintain complete documentation.
Support team members and ensure established goals and deadlines are met.
Act as an expert in assigned areas of software engineering and mentor junior engineers.
Maintain accountability for quality of services, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and on‑scope delivery.
Provide technical leadership and consulting for at least one team.
Contribute formally and informally to the team's effectiveness through mentoring, guidance, and knowledge transfer.
Communicate effectively across disciplines to identify and resolve problems and contribute to organizational success.
Lead cross‑functional groups in knowledge transfer through presentations, white papers, and other means.
Act as a planning consultant for the team or portfolio, identifying technical risks and dependencies.
Speak authoritatively on questions related to the area of ownership or the platform as a whole.
Lead the rapid identification of system problems, minimizing time to restore services.
Assist engineering management in identifying opportunities for improvement within the team.
Apply strategies and tools to plan and execute testing strategies that balance quality and cost.
Interpret functional, non‑functional, and implied requirements into designs and code that meet specifications.
Guide junior engineers on planning and executing requirement delivery.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
6 years of experience in software development with pioneering new approaches and technologies.
3 years of experience in UI web technologies such as Angular or React.
Experience in web‑based applications and web services using Java, REST, ServiceNow, and other web technologies, including databases and third‑party integrations.
Equivalent relevant experience may substitute for the education degree. Generally, 1 year of experience for 1 year of education may be considered at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience with IntelliJ, VS Code, JIRA, Git.
Experience with Agile/Scrum project development.
Experience with Java or a similar object‑oriented language.
Experience with IDM/OSSO, Hibernate/Seam, Banner.
Experience with application integration with legacy systems.
Experience with cloud‑native development or porting/refactoring to cloud (preferably AWS).
Experience with J2EE, Java EE, JavaScript, and SQL.
Technical certifications.
Position & Application Details This is a full‑time, regular position classified for 40 standard weekly hours.
