Senior FPGA Engineer Apply for the Senior FPGA Engineer role at Jobs via Dice.

We are a cutting‑edge technology company specializing in advanced electromagnetic and directed‑energy solutions. Our team brings together top experts in hardware engineering, firmware development, and systems integration to tackle some of the most challenging problems in defense and security. We pride ourselves on delivering high‑performance, mission‑critical systems that combine innovation, precision, and reliability. Driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we cultivate a culture of collaboration, excellence, and integrity—where ambitious ideas become real‑world capabilities.

Why join us? Join a team where you’ll take true end‑to‑end ownership of advanced FPGA solutions—from initial architecture concepts all the way through hardware bring‑up. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge devices, high‑performance interfaces, and complex embedded systems while helping shape next‑generation hardware.

What You’ll Do

Design and verify RTL modules for a wide range of FPGA applications.

Own complete FPGA design cycles, including architecture trades, implementation, verification, hardware bring‑up, FPGA sizing, and IO planning.

Lead testing and bring‑up of custom FPGA circuit cards, ensuring proper operation of peripherals such as memory interfaces, Ethernet controllers, and integrated sensors.

Automate test environments—including hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups—along with lab equipment and measurement workflows.

Document design tradeoffs, state machine flows, address maps, and block‑level diagrams to support robust system development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

5+ years of FPGA design, implementation, and testing experience.

Strong background in implementing FPGA and embedded processing designs on embedded hardware.

Hands‑on experience with modern Xilinx or Intel FPGA families and toolchains (Vivado, Quartus).

Solid understanding of digital communication protocols (SPI, I²C, UART).

Experience developing embedded applications using ARM or GPU platforms.

Proficiency with standard bus and streaming protocols such as AXI and AXI‑Stream.

Experience with CI/CD workflows.

Active Secret or Top Secret clearance—or eligibility to obtain one (desired but not required).

Desired Qualifications

Experience with design automation and scripting languages (TCL, Python, Perl, MATLAB).

Knowledge of advanced firmware verification testbench development (UVM, SystemVerilog).

Skilled in high‑speed Verilog/VHDL designs, including high‑speed memory interfaces (DDR4, HBM) and SerDes protocols (100GE, JESD204B, Interlaken).

Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms on FPGAs using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or HDL Coder.

Background collaborating with software teams in SoC environments to integrate HDL with embedded Linux.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Effective collaborator able to work across levels and functions.

Highly organized and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment.
