Submarine Towed Array Systems Technician
to join our team in San Diego, CA. This role supports U.S. Navy Submarines under the direction of the
Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC)
and serves as the technical
Subject Matter Expert (SME) .
Position Responsibilities
Direct, oversee repair activities, train, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the following:
Reelable Towed Array Handling System (RTAHS) aka Fat Line Towed Array (FLTA)
Deployable Array Working Group (DAWG) aka Thin Lined Towed Array (TLTA)
Provide technical support for procurement, installation, at-sea testing, preventive/corrective maintenance, and lifecycle management of systems.
Interpret technical manuals, apply repair standards, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain an Active Secret Clearance
High School Diploma or equivalent; Navy “A” and “C” Schools desired
6+ years of related experience
with associated systems. Desired, but not required, schools include.

OK-276 Series Operators Course
688 Los Angeles-class submarine background highly desired
Fiber Optics Technician Certificate
CompTIA Security+ or bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, or a related field
Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining communication systems
Strong technical comprehension with the ability to read and interpret manuals and standards
Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technical applications
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling tools/equipment.
Regular verbal and auditory communication.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to board ships and naval crafts, navigating passageways and steep ladders.
Comfortable working in shipboard and industrial environments.
