Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Warren, NC. The Finance Director will oversee the financial operations of the county, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and managing budgets, preparing financial statements, implementing financial policies, coordinating audits, and providing financial guidance to the county manager and Board of Commissioners. The Finance Director will also ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies while promoting sound financial practices.
Qualifications
Proficiency in financial planning, budget management, and financial analysis
Knowledge of accounting, auditing, and fiscal management principles and practices
Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of compliance requirements and government finance regulations
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Masters/CPA or CGFM certification preferred)
Experience working with governmental budgets and financial operations is highly desirable
