About the Role Boston University Financial Assistance seeks a Financial Aid Counselor to review financial aid applications for undergraduate students and support the operations of the office. The counselor will award federal, state, and institutional funds and provide customer service via phone and email, working closely with Admissions, Registrar, and Combined Enrollment Services.
Primary Duties
Provide guidance and support to front‑line customer service colleagues regarding financial aid policies, regulations, and application procedures.
Analyze and resolve conflicting information on student financial aid applications to facilitate the awarding of federal, state, and institutional aid.
Support management of federal, state, and institutional award and compliance through recurring and ad‑hoc projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least one year of service‑ and detail‑oriented experience.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Cover letter required for consideration.
