Overview
Shaun Finnie for Congress is seeking a Social Media Director to lead the campaign’s online presence, crafting and executing digital strategies that inform, engage, and mobilize voters through November 2026. This role blends creative storytelling with data-driven strategy to ensure our message reaches the right people, at the right time, on the right platforms. The Social Media Director will work in close coordination with, and report directly to, the Campaign Manager. This position will require evening and weekend hours. Compensation for this position will start between $4,000 - $5,500 per month depending on experience and include a health insurance stipend. The anticipated start date is in January of 2026 and employment will last through November of 2026. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Texas’ 2nd Congressional District.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Manage and grow the campaign’s presence across all social platforms (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, etc.).
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with overall campaign goals.
Create compelling, shareable content — including posts, graphics, and videos — that reflect campaign messaging and values.
Produce and edit video content that resonates with young and diverse voters.
Build and maintain monthly content calendars across platforms.
Monitor engagement metrics and analytics to refine strategy and improve performance.
Collaborate the Communications and Finance teams to integrate social content with press, email, and fundraising efforts.
Stay on top of social trends, political conversations, and viral opportunities to keep the campaign relevant and authentic.
Regularly staff the candidate at field events and other political events in the district.
Other responsibilities as assigned, based on the needs of the campaign.
Candidate Qualifications:
Proven experience managing social media accounts for a campaign, brand, or organization.
Strong creative and visual communication skills; proficiency in CapCut, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent copywriting skills and understanding of persuasive messaging.
Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines and adjust strategy in real time.
Deep knowledge of current social trends, popular TikTok sounds, and hashtags.
Commitment to Democratic values and electing Shaun Finnie to represent TX-02.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Extreme attention to detail.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability and willingness to adapt and learn new skills quickly.
Strong team culture and positive attitude.
Ability to work in-person and work campaign hours which at times could require 24-7 availability.
A valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, laptop and cell phone.
