Save Job

Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help bridge the gap between design and manufacturing for our next generation of advanced robotics systems. We're building revolutionary manufacturing processes that enable the production of cutting‑edge robotic systems at Amazon's scale.

In this role, you will design and optimize end‑to‑end motor manufacturing processes, from lamination stacking through final motor integration. You'll develop innovative solutions for gearbox assembly, stator winding, rotor manufacturing, and complete motor integration, working hands‑on with our design teams to transform ambitious motor designs into manufacturable products at scale. This is a unique opportunity to pioneer vertically integrated motor manufacturing methods at an unprecedented scale, working with world‑class teams to build the production systems that will bring next‑generation robotic actuators to life. If you're passionate about creating the motor manufacturing processes of tomorrow rather than just optimizing those of today, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the future of automation.

Key job responsibilities

Design and implement manufacturing processes for complete motor assemblies including gearboxes, stators, rotors, and final integration

Develop stator lamination stacking processes including tooling design, stack bonding methods, and quality control procedures

Create and optimize stator winding processes for both automated and semi‑automated production environments

Design rotor manufacturing and assembly processes including shaft integration, magnet placement, and balancing procedures

Develop gearbox assembly processes including gear manufacturing, housing integration, and lubrication systems

Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback to motor design teams to optimize producibility

Establish process controls and quality systems for critical motor parameters including stack height tolerances, winding resistance, air gap measurements, and dynamic balancing

Develop flexible manufacturing concepts that support motor design iteration and accommodate variable material quality

Assess, onboard and monitor motor component suppliers (laminations, magnets, windings, gears) with respect to quality and delivery performance

Create process documentation, manufacturing instructions, work instructions, and equipment specifications for motor production lines

Specify or develop data collection and dashboarding models for real‑time motor manufacturing quality monitoring

Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to transition motor designs from prototype development into volume production

Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and assembly issues in motor production environments

Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize motor performance consistency and minimize cost

Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth product launches and production ramp‑up for new motor variants
