LSC-Westway Park Technology Center, a satellite center of LSC‑CyFair, is located between Clay and Tanner roads off the Sam Houston Tollway. This center focuses on LSC‑CyFair's Visual Communication and Information Technology workforce training programs with certificates and degrees in areas such as Cisco and Microsoft Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Forensics, Graphic and Web Design, and 3D animation.

Job Description Purpose and Scope:
The faculty member is responsible for providing the learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The role encompasses learning facilitation, professional development, and institutional service. Primary responsibilities are planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Essential Job Functions
Teaches courses in Computer Information Technology at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs>
Makes continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
Develops and uses a syllabus for each course or laboratory within college and departmental guidelines
Plans, develops, and uses a variety of teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives and are appropriate for students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles
Evaluates students to measure progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and informs them in a timely manner of their progress in the course
Submits required college reports and forms
Reviews, evaluates, and recommends student learning materials
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
Provides access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods
Responsible for professional development and institutional service as determined in consultation with the Dean
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Mastery of course content
Demonstrated leadership skills; style that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people
Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service and providing a dynamic climate for lifelong learning
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement instructional approaches such as service learning/civic engagement, learning communities, and the effective use of technology
Ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning
Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies
Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule And Conditions
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment, and any specialized equipment standard within the discipline/industry
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed in a climate‑controlled classroom and/lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Hours will vary depending on class time; Instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, or computer‑based information systems, instructional technology, or business/computer related field (e.g., computer management, decision engineering, data processing)
3 years nonteaching work experience in the field or industry certification(s)
Preferred Qualifications
Current industry certifications in network security and/or cybersecurity, or networking, i.e. CCNP, CAP, GSLC, Security+, CISSP, CASP, CISM, SCCP
Background in cybersecurity and network security
