Qualifications

Software Architect - makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-layered architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.

Expert - 84+ months of experience; candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of their field.

84 months of experience designing and developing applications implemented with Java Development Kit (JDK 8 or higher).

84 months of experience writing and maintaining code using Java Persistence API (JPA) or Hibernate.

84 months of experience with Oracle 10g or higher including Development, DML, DDL, and DCL with PL/SQL.

60 months of experience designing and developing applications in PrimeFaces/JSF or the Angular framework.

60 months of experience in identifying and resolving application performance issues.

60 months of experience designing, developing, and deploying applications in IBM WebSphere Application Servers 6.0 or higher, Tomcat 9 or higher, or JBoss Application Server 7 or higher.

48 months of experience developing, implementing, and integrating systems related to criminal justice processing at the state or federal level (including but not limited to disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or initiatives related to Offender Supervision).

Day‑to‑Day Tasks

Implement Integrated Justice (IJ) Portal standards related to application technologies, including UI standards, development methodology, and coding and style guides.

Act as the primary technical liaison with technical infrastructure teams to resolve problems and implement solutions to technical issues impacting application performance.

Work with the Infrastructure teams to execute activities such as performance test planning and execution, fail‑over planning and execution, endurance testing, and deployment planning and testing.

Provide analysis, design, and code reviews for enterprise applications using JAVA/JEE, JSF, XML, XSLT, and for the IBM Portal/WebSphere Application development software.

Perform oversight of development activities which may include data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, preparing logical database models, testing, and implementation.

Prepare, and/or review technical documentation such as designs, schemas, etc., as appropriate.

Provide technical guidance to teams of developers.
