EA Security The Secure Product Engineering & Anti‑Cheat Response team ensures that all EA products are developed with the security and gameplay integrity of our players as a top priority. We partner with platform development teams and game studios to identify and resolve security and gameplay integrity issues throughout the application and service lifecycle.

Job Description We are looking for a Senior Anti‑Cheat Engineer II to help assert Electronic Arts’ games as best‑in‑class in game security and integrity. Your primary responsibilities include developing our backend anti‑cheat technologies and adding new features that address the scale of the problems we face in the anti‑cheat space.

Responsibilities

Design and develop backend microservices in Rust for scalable and resilient operation.

Analyze and optimize data flow from client‑side to backend services and data storage.

Identify, investigate, and resolve issues at any layer of the technology stack, including AWS cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate with internal developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver project requirements.

Document solutions, provide technical guidance, and contribute to system design discussions.

Participate in on‑call rotations or provide support for critical incidents as required.

Remote work may be possible.

Qualifications

5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with technical project ownership.

Expert proficiency in Rust and related backend libraries.

Strong background in microservices, distributed systems fundamentals, and REST / gRPC APIs.

Skilled in AWS infrastructure setup, monitoring, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated ability to dissect and resolve issues across application and cloud infrastructure.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document and explain choices/solutions.

Ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

Bonus

Experience with developing or reversing obfuscation or encryption technologies.

Experience developing anti‑tamper, anti‑virus, or anti‑malware SaaS technologies.

Strong understanding of security software services and design of resilient systems.

Experience in remote working environments, collaborating across multiple time zones.

Understanding of cloud cost optimization and security/hardening techniques.

Compensation and Benefits The ranges listed below are what EA expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting.

British Columbia (*$138,700 - $199,900 CAD)

California (*$160,600 - $249,300 USD)

Colorado (*$160,600 - $205,500 USD)

Illinois (*$149,200 - $205,500 USD)

Massachusetts (*$160,600 - $234,700 USD)

Minnesota (*$149,200 - $205,500 USD)

Jersey City, NJ (*$160,600 - $242,600 USD)

New York (*$149,200 - $242,600 USD)

Washington (*$149,200 - $205,500 USD)

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off, sick time, paid holidays, parental leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance, and 401(k). Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
