Director, Sales III

is to develop and execute the strategic marketing and sales plan for employer groups, brokers, and consultants. You will be accountable for sales staff and oversee the distribution of sales products relevant to the portfolio, driving membership, revenue, and profitability objectives across the region.

Position Purpose Develops and implements the strategic marketing/sales plan for employer groups/brokers/consultants, as applicable to their segment and market. Accountable for sales staff and will manage the distribution of sales products relevant to their portfolio.

Achieves membership, revenue and profitability objectives for the sales portfolio.

Provides direction and leadership in the formation and execution of sales, retention and enterprise marketing strategies; expands awareness of Health Net capabilities in relevant segments and establishes value-added and differentiable identity.

Manages the department by setting goals and standards that meet or exceed customer expectations; directs and oversees individual goal and development plans and coaches associates to achieve results.

Fosters internal and external relationships through participation in sales meetings, account calls, and proactive information sharing with staff and all internal and external constituents (brokers, employers, business partners).

Develops annual business plans to meet the health plan’s membership, revenue and profitability objectives.

Creates strategies to grow desirable market share and transform underperforming markets.

Implements a structured sales process supporting Health Net’s business plans and establishes systems to monitor processes.

Develops best practices and implements them based on local market conditions.

Education/Experience Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; MBA/post-graduate degree desirable. Minimum five years of management experience in addition to outstanding leadership skills. At least 9+ years of sales or broker experience in a managed care setting and experience with a full range of healthcare products.

License/Certification Active health insurance license required. Requires state insurance license; requirements vary by state.

Travel As a field-based role, a minimum of 75% of this role will take place in the marketplace. Overnight travel may be required based on territory/marketplace.

Pay Range: $145,100.00 – $268,800.00 per year.
