Position Summary
Lead the Project Management Office for R&D, elevating the craft of all Project Managers by providing training, tools, processes, and governance to ensure consistent, high‑quality project execution across the R&D portfolio.
Responsibilities
Lead the PM Office and train Project Managers in best practices, tools, and methods.
Challenge the broader organization to adopt a project‑centric approach and propose process, culture and governance changes as part of the PPE group.
Provide direct management oversight of the PMO group, China PM team (2), Submission PM (4 FTE + FSP) and dotted‑line reporting for Japan PM (4 FTE).
Deliver training and tools to enable R&D projects to be planned consistently, managing risk, budget, critical path, timelines and resources.
Requirements
12+ years of R&D project management or operations experience.
Expertise in PM best practices, tools, templates and training.
Experience working in cross‑functional R&D teams.
In‑depth knowledge of drug research, development and manufacturing processes.
Advanced degree in Science, MBA, PMP certification or equivalent (preferred).
Strong team collaboration and independent work skills.
Experience in multicultural and international teams (preferred).
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strategic thinking and portfolio management system expertise.
