Role and Responsibilities The Product Manager (PM) for Astra DB is responsible for leading critical elements of the product strategy and requirements for our database‑as‑a‑service offering. This includes managing the complete product/feature lifecycle from definition and introduction to end‑of‑life in close partnership with the Experience Design (XD) and Product Engineering teams. The PM develops requirements based on a balance of customer needs, industry best practices, future vision, near‑term opportunities, and day‑to‑day product issues, and regularly engages with executives, business partners, channel, enterprise buyers, and end users/developers. The position is dynamic and requires comfortable multi‑tasking across technical, business, strategic, marketing, and planning activities.
What You Will Do
Interact with enterprises and developers to understand their data platform requirements.
Conduct research to maintain an ongoing understanding of the broader cloud data space and identify industry best practices that should be applied to Astra DB.
Partner closely with the Product Engineering teams to write clear product requirements and user stories.
Work with the Experience Design (XD) team to design delightful, intuitive, and friction‑free experiences that meet defined security requirements.
Illustrate the vision and key phases of product deliverables with targeted timeframes via the Astra DB roadmap.
Preferred Education Master’s Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in Product Management with exposure to cloud‑delivered SaaS data or developer services.
Passionate about security – protecting the world’s data from attack.
Experience working directly with engineering teams.
Translating compliance controls into product requirements and business outcomes.
Ability to navigate complex decision‑making and effectively communicate across teams.
Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, organize, and champion key initiatives and projects for product development.
Flexible, self‑motivated team player.
Ability to work independently or lead others on projects.
