The Space Systems Command (SSC) plays a critical role in advancing the United States' space capabilities by delivering cutting‑edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense’s current and future operational needs. As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission‑critical systems across the entire acquisition life cycle, ensuring the United States Space Force (USSF) and its partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ‑BC programs and other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations, helping shape the future of space operations and contribute to the defense of our nation’s space assets. Primary Responsibilities

Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for all project stages in the acquisition life cycle. Support acquisition efforts for advanced technology, concept development, and integration. Advise on cost, schedule, and performance. Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for government program managers. Support presentations to stakeholders. Documentation includes Initial Capability Documents, Interface Control Documents, Capability Development/Production/Requirements Documents, Milestone documentation, Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Defense Acquisition Board documentation, and more. Develop work using the latest government guidance (e.g., MIL‑STD). Provide draft SME‑level technical and/or programmatic status reports for individual programs or portfolios as requested by the government program manager. Identify improvement areas in acquisition processes. Provide actionable recommendations for risk reduction and assist in maintaining a government risk program, including risk identification and mitigation planning. Support the government program manager in managing commitments, obligations, and expenditures of funds. Perform earned value management and schedule analysis for defense contracts. Provide Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) support including congressional reporting, fiscal year planning, continuing resolution management, unfunded requirement development and submittal, end‑of‑year funding actions, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development. Offer expertise during Integrated Baseline Reviews/Business Financial Reviews to assess defense contractor cost and schedule performance. Maintain awareness of current program schedules, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on identified risks. Combine program execution data with baselines to maintain accurate acquisition reports. Minimum Qualifications

15 years of experience handling cost estimation for classified government programs. Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of program financial management for an ACAT‑like weapon system program, including fiscal year planning, continuing resolution management, unfunded requirement development and submittal, spring execution reviews, end‑of‑year funding actions, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development, and Earned Value Management. Highly knowledgeable in the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process. The person in this position must be an SME Recognized Industry Leader. MA, MS, or MBA degree required. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not supervise the work of others. Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Physical Demands

Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80% of the time. Travel

Full‑time, salary, exempt position. Expected annual salary: $144,000 – $250,000, contingent on experience, education, certifications, training, and specialized skills. Benefits
