AI Solutions Architect
to join our team! In this role you will get to this SME technical leadership position demands an exceptional strategist who will architect and deliver mission-critical defense solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Collaborate across the Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Program Management Office (PMO) and the Program Executive Office (PEO) Joint Cyber Warfare (JCW) to align vision, strategy, and implementation of DCO enterprise AI solutions.
Coordinate and collaborate with Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) and Enterprise PMOs and external Joint directorates regarding opinionated design decisions to gain buy-in and trust with the user community.
Collaborate with DCO PMO Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Solution Train Engineer (STE) cadences to define and refine Features and Capabilities, contributing to the Solution Intent, Vision, and Roadmap for Defensive Cyber Operations AI efforts.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and best‑in‑class industry tools.
Participate in PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops to ensure alignment, manage dependencies, and foster collaboration across Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Solution Trains
Analyze user needs and Value Stream mapping to identify Features and Capabilities
Understand DoD acquisition processes with an emphasis on Software Acquisition Pathway (SWP) as a core competency that shapes technology choices
Collaborate with PMO leadership to define GenAI objectives, ensuring alignment with the Program Increment (PI) Objectives and overall roadmap.
Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness
Derive lower‑level requirements from higher‑level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfill, and ensure these requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness
Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project
Lead technical strategy for major CYBERCOM initiatives
Drive innovation while ensuring compliance with DOD standards
Mentor and develop next‑generation technical leaders
Provide executive‑level architectural guidance and oversight
Leadership Requirements
Experience leading cross‑functional teams of 20+ personnel
Previous Program Management and/or Technical Director core skills
Track record of communicating and advising senior military and civilian leadership
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change
Core Technical Requirements
NoSQL data basing, Gitlab/Github, Kafka, RESTful APIs or OpenAPI/Swagger
Strong experience with modern software development languages and frameworks (Python, Java, .NET, React, Angular, Node.js).
Hands‑on expertise with microservices architecture and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Expert knowledge of DevSecOps practices within classified environments
Mastery of Architecture design, requirements analysis, developing risk mitigation plans, and creating design/system documentation.
Hands‑on experience deploying Generative Artificial Intelligence solutions at scale for enterprise users.
Advanced proficiency in secure software development practices
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Engineering or related technical field with 15+ years of experience, or 20+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree
Active TS clearance with polygraph
Experience working within the SAFe Agile framework
Expert‑level knowledge in DOD cyber operations and/or defense systems
Proven ability to lead, influence, and guide enterprise‑wide architectural initiatives and technical teams.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Deep expertise in NIST frameworks, RMF, and DOD security standards
