The Provost also oversees non‑degree healthcare programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Laboratory Technology/Phlebotomy. Wake Tech's health sciences programs serve nearly 6,000 students annually. The Health Sciences Provost will also serve as the official spokesperson and liaison for the campus.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

Perry Health Sciences Campus The Perry Health Sciences Campus is located adjacent to WakeMed's flagship hospital. Wake Tech partners with WakeMed and other local health care institutions to provide hands‑on clinical training and work‑based learning experiences for our students. The campus features a state‑of‑the‑art nursing simulation suite and a dental hygiene clinic. It is also home to the Wake Early College of Health and Sciences, a partnership with the Wake County Public School System.

Wake Tech has the largest Associate Degree Nursing program in the state, and graduates of most Wake Tech Health Sciences programs average a 100% passing rate on their licensure exams. Most Health Sciences students are employed before they graduate.

Campus Expansion On September 16th in collaboration with Wake County and WakeMed, Wake Tech broke ground on the Perry Family Simulation Hospital. It will be one of the largest and most comprehensive facilities in the country providing realistic multi‑disciplinary training for a variety of health care specialties. The three‑story, 100,000‑square‑foot simulation hospital will enable Wake Tech to train more health care professionals in a comprehensive, realistic setting – from the patient check‑in area to a simulated emergency department, operating rooms, imaging and other diagnostic testing labs, a simulated nursing center, and patient rooms. Wake Tech also plans to add additional health sciences training at the new Western Wake Campus in Apex near the future North Carolina Children’s Hospital.
