HVAC Lead/Building Lead (Tour Mechanic Lead) (DD)
EMCOR Government Services, Inc. is seeking a HVAC Lead/Building Lead (Tour Mechanic Lead) in Herndon, VA. This position provides services to include supervising personnel and maintenance and repair of Building Equipment at the Dulles Discovery Site.
Job Summary Supervises Tour Mechanics, implements training, troubleshoots equipment, monitors subcontractors, and performs other tasks as directed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Engineer with their duties
Assist with the troubleshooting of all equipment on site
Implement training across all Tour Mechanic shifts
Supervise the performance of the Tour Mechanics and institute corrective action
Update site-wide LOPs used by Tour Mechanics
Monitor subcontractors and provide reports when needed
Perform other tasks as directed by the Supervisor
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Tradesman certification or equivalent experience
Five (5) or more years’ experience in a mechanical trade with at least three (3) years in a supervisory position
Seven (7) or more years’ experience in maintenance and repair of commercial‑industrial building equipment, including elevators, pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs, VFDs, and fire systems
Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Practical knowledge of chiller plant operations basics
Practical knowledge of building air systems
Able to work extended hours when needed
Physical Demands
Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs./push up to 100 lbs.)
Prolong, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, parts
Manual dexterity and mobility
