About the Team The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team builds and manages the foundational blocks of the ClickHouse Cloud data plane end‑to‑end. This includes compute, networking, security, and a multi‑cloud, multi‑region architecture that provides a reliable and scalable managed ClickHouse experience for customers. We are looking for highly skilled and experienced cloud infrastructure software engineers to design, deploy, and maintain this infrastructure.
What will you do?
Architect and build a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
Build a cutting‑edge cloud‑native platform on top of the public cloud, and automate cloud resource management.
Work closely with the core database development team, security team, and partners to produce the SAS offering.
Develop routing and traffic components to improve the reliability and scalability of our cloud service.
Systematically improve availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices.
Design and build security components and tooling: firewall, PKI and certificate infrastructure, zero‑trust network, etc.
Improve performance and cost efficiency of our infrastructure.
About you:
5+ years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault‑tolerant, distributed systems.
Proficiency in Go, C/C++, Java, or another object‑oriented language.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud‑native edge or service‑mesh services, preferably envoy and Istio.
Experience leading and shipping large‑scope technical projects with multiple engineers.
Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers).
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards such as SOC 2 and GDPR.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a global team.
Strong problem‑solving skills and solid production debugging capabilities.
Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and partner with business teams to move the business forward.
High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
Compensation For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range is
$141,000 – $208,000 USD . In premium US markets (Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Seattle, WA; New York City metro area) the range is
$157,000 – $230,000 USD . These ranges reflect the minimum and maximum pay we reasonably and in good faith believe to be appropriate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary and may be subject to future adjustments.
