About the Company Woodmont Properties is a forward-thinking, fully integrated real estate investment, development, and management firm with a diverse portfolio spanning multifamily, industrial, and land. As the company expands both its development pipeline and its emerging Investment Management platform, Woodmont is seeking a Vice President, Capital Markets to play a critical role in building and managing the firm’s capital solutions (including both debt and equity). This individual will help position Woodmont for its next phase of institutional growth.
About the Role The Vice President, Capital Markets is responsible for leading debt and equity financing initiatives across Woodmont Properties’ portfolio. This highly visible, strategic role will work directly with senior leadership to develop and execute capital markets strategies that align with the company’s investment and development goals. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, with a dotted line to the MD, Investments, the VP will source, structure, and negotiate financing across asset classes; cultivate and manage lender and investor relationships; and help shape capital decisions for both new investments and existing assets. A strong investment background is highly advantageous, as the role sits at the intersection of capital raising, underwriting, transaction structuring, and portfolio management.
Responsibilities
Debt & Equity Capitalization : Source, structure, negotiate, and execute all major financings—construction, bridge, permanent, and recapitalizations—across multifamily, industrial, and land portfolios. Support equity structuring for joint ventures and programmatic partnerships, including negotiation of terms, waterfalls, governance, and promote structures.
Capital Markets Strategy : Monitor macroeconomic, capital markets, and sector-specific trends; develop proactive financing strategies that optimize cost of capital, liquidity, and risk-adjusted returns. Advise senior leadership on capital stack alternatives, pricing, and market conditions.
Lender & Investor Relations : Develop and maintain relationships with banks, agencies, institutional investors, mortgage brokers, and other capital providers to enhance funding opportunities.
Transaction Execution : Lead financing processes from inception through closing, including underwriting support, due diligence, term sheet negotiations, credit approval coordination, and documentation review. Interface with internal and external legal teams to ensure documentation aligns with business intent and risk parameters.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with Woodmont’s Development business and its emerging Investment Management platform to align capital strategies with business objectives.
Portfolio Management : Proactively manage existing debt and equity portfolio to optimize project capital structures and ensure alignment with business plans and the company’s strategic objectives.
Risk & Compliance Management : Ensure financing structures adhere to financial covenants and risk parameters.
Strategic Fundraising : Play a key role in raising Woodmont’s programmatic value-add investment partnership, including assisting with LP engagement, materials preparation, pipeline presentation, and structuring. Support future industrial value-add fundraising initiatives as Woodmont scales its Investment Management platform.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in real estate capital markets, investment banking, or structured finance, with a focus on debt and equity placement.
Established relationships with lenders and institutional investors, particularly in multifamily, industrial, and land sectors.
Deep expertise in real estate capital structuring, financial modeling, and risk assessment.
Strong negotiation and execution skills with a track record of closing complex financing transactions.
Strategic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work across business units to support Woodmont’s long-term growth.
