District Overview:

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is a subsidiary of the Kiewit Corporation. Since our founding in 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, MEC has pursued electrical projects that require higher technical and logistical skill. MEC has organized strategically to actively participate and capture projects in the growing industrial market, self-perform majority of our work, and seek people committed to the industrial construction industry.

Location:

Projects across the U.S. with relocation assistance or per diem and paid trips home. Personalized development plans to help you reach goals. Current project locations include Irvine, CA; Waltham, MA; Norfolk, VA; Omaha, NE; Honolulu, HI; Seattle, WA; San Jose, CA; Tucson, AZ; Boise, ID.

Responsibilities:

Electrical Superintendents’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise small- to medium-size construction projects

Perform daily inspections for safety, quality, and productivity

Act as liaison and coordinator between contractors

Solve problems that arise

Establish budgetary guidelines and ensure cost control measures

Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel

Establish quality standards and ensure all company standards are met

Develop and manage job schedules, coordinate work with contractors and suppliers, and schedule inspections appropriately

Multiple relocations required nationwide on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years experience as General Foreman or Superintendent

Experience managing union labor (a plus)

Directly supervise crews

Broad understanding of technical electrical systems, including underground layout and installation, instrumentation installation, above-ground systems layout and installations (conduit installations within hazardous locations, cable tray systems, cable pulling in conduit and tray)

Experience managing 20-50 craft employees at one time

Prepared to attend meetings with customers and owners or general contractors

Positive attitude and excellent motivational skills

Adapt to new surroundings and people

Ability to access all points of a construction site

Ability to work with team and provide input

Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Excel and Word

Willing to travel and relocate nationwide on an as-needed basis

Allowed to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Work normal operating hours to organize and complete work within deadlines; work overtime and weekends as required

May work at various locations; conditions may vary

Base Compensation:

$100,000/yr – $150,000/yr. (Actual compensation subject to variation based on education, experience, skill, location)
