Position Details We are looking for a Director, Government Affairs, and this is a hybrid position located in Washington, D.C.
Overview Siemens Government Affairs promotes the company's interests and influences policies and outcomes that impact Siemens' reputation, financial position, and operational capabilities. As a member of the U.S. Government Affairs federal team, the Director will help shape the company’s public policy positions and design and execute government affairs strategies related to manufacturing, AI, industrial base modernization, and other areas facing a global technology company operating in every industry sector.
Your Responsibilities
Research, anticipate, and monitor relevant legislation, regulation, policy initiatives, and funding opportunities in pharmaceutical and life science, defense, shipbuilding, and semiconductor sectors.
Communicate implications of policy developments for internal stakeholders.
Develop and lead external advocacy efforts, leveraging consultants and trade associations to support the company's position.
Support policy briefings within your topic area for executives in preparation for political meetings and high‑level events.
Engage with policy makers to provide recommendations, shaping an innovation and technology‑friendly ecosystem in the U.S.
Basic Qualifications
BS/BA degree required
10+ years of public policy experience, particularly U.S. legislative or executive branch and corporate or trade association government affairs experience.
10+ years of experience in managing complex public policy analysis and advocacy strategies, including policy communications with senior government officials.
10+ years of experience with leveraging expertise and existing relationships on the local, state, and federal levels, as well as across key industries to assist Siemens in moving key business initiatives forward.
10+ years of experience with knowledge of relevant national policy and government affairs issues related to Siemens’ business to proactively identify emerging issues and develop policy and government affairs strategies and messaging.
10+ years of experience with expertise in communicating complex, technical, or policy issues to diverse, non‑technical audiences both verbally and through written communication.
Authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong work ethic, positive demeanor, and heightened intuition.
Ability to engage and influence senior executives and high‑level government officials.
Ability to develop strategic political solutions to complex and critical problems.
Strong writing and public speaking skills to communicate company positions on complex topics, internally and externally.
Ability to successfully lead cross‑functional teams to drive and lead complex campaigns and projects.

The pay range for this position is $120,666‑$206,856, and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
