Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Child/Adolescent Residential

Casa Pacifica has been a leading provider of children’s mental health services since 1994. We follow a relationship‑based approach to supporting youth and families, meeting people where they are and guiding them in building on strengths. This position will support four of our programs: Camino a Casa (private‑insurance residential, 4‑8 week stays, max 25 beds), a short‑term residential program (6‑12 week stays, max 14 beds), a partial hospitalization program (6‑8 week stays), and an education cottage (6‑9 month stays, max 16 beds). All programs are accredited and licensed by relevant state agencies.
Responsibilities & Hours
Provide psychiatric nursing care to adolescents 12‑17 in all Casa Pacifica programs.
Schedule: Monday‑Thursday 8:30 AM‑4:00 PM PT; no evening or weekend call; vacation coverage as required.
Manage a caseload of approximately 30 patients per week across private residential, short‑term residential, partial hospitalization, and education cottage settings.
Administer medications, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
Conduct patient follow‑up conversations, rounding with nurses as needed, and support nurses during clinic hours for medication sets and monitoring high‑risk patients.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, licensed vocational nurses, academic facilitators, and youth development specialists.
Maintain accurate documentation in Avatar EMR; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and therapeutic rounds.
Assist in staff education and supervise LVN medication rounds.
Adhere to accreditation standards and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
Active, California‑licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a psychiatric facility or department.
Proficiency in medication management and client assessment.
Comfortable working with adolescents and families in residential settings.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
