About the Role The Entry Level Laboratory Technician I will be responsible for the processing and testing of various blood samples. Sample processing will include, but is not limited to: PBMC, T, B, & NK cell isolations. Other assigned duties may include cell counting, aliquot preparation, accessioning, reagent creation, proper storage, and flow cytometry lab services. Initial samples will be from both Leukopaks and blood samples or derivatives. The role requires experience with LIMS systems, commercial laboratory operations, and internal communication of project details with Sanguine personnel, work as a team.

Primary Responsibilities

Accurately document and accession biospecimen collection information into a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

Create, label, and perform quality control on an array of reagents

Perform laboratory procedures using density gradient separation for cryopreservation of PBMCs that may also include further isolation of immune cell subsets such as T, B and NK cells according to SOPs.

Execute other laboratory procedures such as cell-based assay work, flow cytometry, and research grade diagnostic testing.

Work with human biological samples including but not limited to whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, saliva, stool, and leukopaks.

Perform quality testing of various samples.

Prepare, process, and ship biological samples to outside laboratories following SOPs and IATA regulations.

Quality control of incoming and outgoing samples

Maintain accurate records of specimen storage, distribution, and transfers

Support and perform basic troubleshooting of processing and sample storage equipment.

Ensure safety and compliance to SOPs and applicable regulations

Properly stock all laboratory reagents and supplies and update inventory records as needed

Other job functions or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience in a life science laboratory environment

Basic understanding of laboratory techniques

Experience with mammalian blood samples

Experience working in a biobank or biorepository

Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.

Intermediate computer skills.

Knowledge of process or utility equipment/system maintenance.

Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards.

Must be able to work in a BSL-2 Lab setting with biohazards and various chemicals.

Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.

Ability to lift 40 lbs.

This is an hourly role with overtime eligibility based on business needs. Availability and flexibility to work a variety of full-time shifts Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8am to 7pm is highly desirable.

Schedule Monday through Friday, 9am to 5:30pm or availability and flexibility to work a variety of full-time shifts.

Pay $23/hour to $25/hour plus performance based bonus.
