Overview
Emory Specialty Associates (ESA) is seeking to hire Anesthetists – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) – to work on a PRN/As‑needed basis at the LaGrange Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Experience
General Anesthesia experience in an ambulatory surgical setting highly preferred.
Highlights
PRN rate: $180 per hour.
Eligible for Emory Healthcare’s High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and the 403(b) Retirement Plan once eligibility rules are met.
Description
Under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non‑surgical procedure patients.
Performs initial acute cardiopulmonary resuscitation in life‑threatening situations or as directed by a physician; instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
Interprets and records patient’s physiological and pharmacological status, assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre‑op data.
Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.
Establishes multi‑parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, central venous pressure, arterial blood gas determinations, hematocrits, and routine measurement of temperature, respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate.
Establishes other monitoring as may be developed for anesthesia and intensive care use. Manages pre‑ and post‑anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program.
Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia; certified by NBCRNA or NCCAA.
Must maintain biannual certification through submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Physical Requirements Lift 20‑50 lbs occasionally; 11‑25 lbs frequently; 1‑10 lbs constantly. Max lift 50 lbs. Carrying objects up to 25 lbs. Standing, walking, sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing). Physical demands may vary.
Environmental Factors Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor hazards, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be required.
