Job Overview
Carle Health is seeking an additional
BE/BC GI Hospitalist
to join our Gastroenterology department at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Responsibilities
Inpatient consults and inpatient procedures for Gastroenterology
Annual consult volumes: Pekin Hospital-180, Proctor Hospital-228, Methodist Hospital-528
Annual procedure volumes: Pekin Hospital-80, Proctor Hospital-124, Methodist Hospital-553
Schedule is 25 weeks (175 shifts) per year, Monday-Sunday, 24-hour coverage, in-house from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; shifts will include holidays as part of the normal schedule rotation
Full-time Advanced Practitioner support for daytime coverage
24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
EPIC EMR
Triage calls for GI and round‑on patients at all three hospital campuses
EUS procedure, plus ERCP
Participate in biweekly colorectal tumor boards
Carle Health Methodist Hospital is a 349-bed Level II Trauma Center that has been ranked #23 in the state of Illinois for patient outcomes

Qualifications
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Gastroenterology
Experience with inpatient GI consults and GI procedures
Comfortable working a 24-hour shift schedule and on-call coverage
Proficiency in EPIC EMR system
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to excellence in patient care and quality improvement

Compensation & Benefits Compensation range: $800,000 – $805,000 annually (good‑faith minimum and maximum).
