Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities Cross-Functional Collaboration

Engage in technical discussions with Design, Verification, Implementation, and CAD teams to identify opportunities for improving VLSI workflows.

Partner with stakeholders to define AI-driven solutions that reduce time-to-market and enhance design efficiency.

AI-Driven Automation Development

Design, develop, and integrate automation flows leveraging AI and machine learning for VLSI design and verification processes with Measurable KPI’s

Ensure scalability and robustness of AI-enabled workflows across multiple toolchains.

Optimize performance and reliability of deployed solutions to meet stringent VLSI design requirements.

Training and Support

Provide technical guidance and training to engineering teams on AI-enabled automation flows.

Document best practices and create knowledge-sharing resources to foster adoption of AI solutions.

Research and Continuous Innovation

Explore emerging AI technologies, algorithms, and methodologies relevant to semiconductor design.

Prototype and validate AI-based solutions for tasks such as design optimization, verification coverage, and predictive analysis.

Monitor industry trends and incorporate cutting-edge AI techniques into existing workflows.

Skill Set

Strong foundation in AI/ML algorithms, with hands‑on any one of the supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.

Proficiency in any one of the Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

Good understanding of VLSI design flows, including RTL design, synthesis, verification, and physical implementation.

Experience with EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics) and scripting for automation.

Familiarity with data engineering for large-scale design datasets and feature extraction is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical concepts.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits $148,300.00 - $222,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales‑incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
